Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Residency Program

Scholarships

The selection process for residents at Bellagio involves both an internal referral process and an annual open call for applications. Regardless of the method, individuals interested in becoming residents must submit an application and undergo a competitive review process.

While the general open call allows applicants to propose projects on any topic, Bellagio currently prioritizes two specific themes:

  1. Addressing Climate Change: This theme underscores Bellagio’s commitment to tackling the urgent global challenge of climate change. Sub-themes may include topics such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, carbon reduction strategies, and ecosystem conservation.
  2. Building Vibrant, Connected, and Resilient Societies: This theme focuses on fostering strong and inclusive communities that can withstand challenges and thrive in a rapidly changing world. Sub-themes may include social justice, community development, urban planning, access to education and healthcare, and cultural preservation.

By prioritizing these themes, Bellagio aims to drive action in line with The Rockefeller Foundation’s priority areas and cultivate a network of individuals and ideas dedicated to making meaningful contributions in each area.

Applicants interested in addressing these themes are encouraged to tailor their proposals accordingly during the application process to increase their chances of selection as Bellagio residents.
